Newsletter Editor
Requirements: High level of organization skill, ability to multi-task and work with hard deadlines; Attention to detail, especially in editing, proofing; Proficient computer skills—use of Word, emailing, Internet
General Duties: Attend monthly CMCA Board meetings;Plan, organize, edit and write parts of the content of each month’s newsletter; Deadlines work 1 month ahead (ex: April newsletter produced in March); Coordinate with Mahogany Homeowners Association on deadlines and content; Communicate when necessary with Great News Media about production concerns; Coordinate content sharing across CMCA’s social media and website
Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements: Able to communicate effectively with diverse people; Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities
General Duties: Source and recruit volunteers through various techniques (databases, e-mail, social media etc.); Collect information on availabilities and skills; Arrange for appropriate training when needed; Produce schedules for everyday activities; Assign responsibilities to the right people for special events; Coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale actions; Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed; Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events; Keep detailed records of volunteers’ information and assignments; Εnsure the purpose of the organization and its actions is clearly communicated
Sponsorship Coordinator
Requirements: Strong verbal, organizational and written communication skills; Strong networking skills; Strong time management and organizational skills; Confident, friendly, professional and comfortable with cold calling; Self-motivation but love being part of a team
General Duties: Develop proposals in order to send to different organizations in order to solicit sponsorships; Develop and implement sponsorship strategies in order to maximize revenues; Ensure appropriate delivery of sponsorship programs at every level of the project; Seek new sponsors by taking referrals and searching for different avenues such as the web; Handle negotiations with sponsors and ensure that the agreement that has been reached is the closest to the objective of the plan; Act as a liaison between sponsors and CMCA; Ensure the efficacy of existing sponsorship programs; Seek in-kind support from different corporations and foundations; Develop appropriate correspondence such as proposals, thank you letters and program outcome information
Events support
Events support comes in many forms, from short-term extra hands needed at an event, to task-oriented longer term commitments.
Short-term opportunities may be: setting up tables and chairs for an event, supervising a shift at an event station (for example, a 2 hour shift supervising a bouncy house), event clean-up crew
Longer term opportunities may be: organizing and managing vendors for a market, seeking sponsorships for an event
All roles except Events Support are required to:
- Commit to the work of the organization
- Be willing to serve on committees and attend committee meetings
- Attend monthly Board meetings, committee meetings when needed, and Annual General Meetings
- Support and participate in special events and fundraising activities
- Be a member in good standing of the Copperfield-Mahogany Community Association
