This dynamic group class is ideal for beginners and intermediate students. The classes incorporate all the key principles of Pilates such as postural alignment, breathing, core stability, controlled movement and flexibility. The mat floor exercises may also be combined with other props such as weights, balls and thera-bands. Instructor are able to give participants hand-on attention and make appropriate modifications for each student’s ability.
What is Pilates
Pilates is a mind-body method of movement that rejuvenates the physical and mental well-being. It is a full body health program and therapeutic exercise with the propose of improve body strength, flexibility, circulation, and rehabilitation from injury or those living with chronic pain.
What to wear
Wear comfortable, breathable, clothes that you can move easily in so that you can focus on your breathing and movements. Socks are important for all Pilates classes and we recommend grip socks for safety prospective.
What to bring
Bring your yoga mat and your bottle of water. You can refill your bottle of water at CM. Don’t forget your socks!
Grasie’s Souza Biography
Grasie Souza’s boundless energy, big heart and dedication to helping people lead healthy, pain free lives are what drive her vision to be a healer through the mode of Pilates.
In 2017 Grasie Souza suffered pelvic issues from child birth and was bed ridden for over two months. After countless physiotherapy sessions, her doctor suggested she try Pilates as one final option before having to resort to surgery as a means to resolve her health issues. The Pilates worked! She completely healed from her health issues and “returned to life”. She has been practicing Pilates since then. This experience fueled her desire to learn Pilates so she can share it with others.
Grasie Souza pursued post-secondary diploma in “Classical Pilates Vocational Training License” with over 850 hours of training at the only accredited Pilates school in Canada. Embody School of Pilates in Canmore, Alberta. She also obtained a Diploma in Business and studied International Affairs at university.

Memberships expire May 31st, so please be sure to renew your membership prior to clicking on member rate. Residents outside Copperfield & Mahogany are welcome to take part in these programs! A discount is given for Association members. All Programs must be pre-paid at least 1 week prior to the start of the session. Any reserved spots that are unpaid by the 1 week deadline will be notified and then released to paying participants. We will not hold spots for payment on the day the class starts. Payment can be made with Paypal by clicking on the Store tab, in person at the Hall during office hours, or by calling during office hours to make payment over the phone. Classes may be cancelled due to lack of registration. The CMCA will not carry over classes to another session or reimburse missed classes unless the class is cancelled by the CMCA. If any classes are missed due to participant sickness or other commitments, that is the responsibility of the participant. The CMCA will make every attempt to accommodate any cancelled classes at the end of the session to make sure that all paid classes are available to participants. The CMCA may pro-rate the registration cost if the class is not full and a participant joins in after a session has already started.
